Since I was a teenager, I was attracted by the aesthetics of past decades, especially the 50's and 60's. Back then, the only way to get vintage clothes was to raid my grandmothers´wardrobes: from my grandma Celedonia I treasure a beautiful blue robe that I still use everyday, from my grandma Isidora I got skirts and dresses that I had to alter six sizes to fit me. When I was 17 years old, during hot and sleepless summer nights, I made some dresses out of 60's Burda magazines patterns.
Later on, I left my home village to study Arts in Valencia. It was there where I had the first opportunity to buy vintage clothes in the flea markets but also, most importantly, I found shops and factories that had stock of unworn vintage items. Since then I have found vintage dead stocks in different places all around Spain, sometimes in big cities and sometimes in the tiniest fishing village by the coast.
In 2010 I decided to create blessthatdress and started sharing these Spanish vintage treasures. My passion is to go “treasure hunting”, searching for the most unique, charming and original clothing items that wait patiently to come out in the light and be worn proudly. I love each one of them and I am going to miss them all, hope you enjoy them too!
I love vintage clothing but also I love photography. Blessthatdress is my dream come true: I get to take pictures all day long surrounded by vintage clothing.
Welcome to Blessthatdress!
